The public library operating in Gál Ferenc College’s building in Dóm Square in Szeged has a unique role among the libraries of the region. Its duty is to support the scientific work of the college, to assist the professional advancement of students and to serve the religious, theological and spiritual edification of the priests and the congregation of the Diocese by helping books. It is primarily a special theological library, collecting theological, i.e. biblical, dogmatic, moral, pastoral and catechetical documents; nearly 65,000 volumes altogether.
Other related sciences are also represented by books on the themes of philosophy, history, sociology, ethnography, law, arts, psychology and pedagogy.
