MESSENGERS Conference in Békés

MESSENGERS Conference in Békés

On 15th November yet another conference will be held at the GFF Békés Vocational School after the 6th Szeged MESSENGERS conference in spring. Its topic is "Destructive and healing emotions". Emotions play a decisive role in our lives, but they tend to be overlooked, suppressed, or devalued. They disturb us during the day, disturb us in the body, disturb us at night because we dream about them, disturb us because they reflect us when they sit on our faces. And what is most scary about them is that they change the direction of our lives and even put our lives on top of them, which greatly influence our work, our relationships, and our role in the community. Think of the feeling of love or alienation, for example.

Most people see anger as a negative and destructive emotion, although anger is a guardian of our health. Feeling anger is part of our lives and expresses our struggle for our lives as we constantly have to overcome obstacles and barriers. Anger for life builds, but misdirected and accumulated anger destroys.

Anger has a serious signaling function. It indicates boundaries. Therefore, it is important that we allow ourselves to become aware of ourselves. Anger tells us how important the values are to the situation. We must first see the value of anger. When we see this, we can also see that we may not be angry with who or what we should be.

We may be expecting our needs to be met by those who cannot provide it to us. When anger heals from blindness and becomes visible, it will be able to find the right form of expression: it may be a firm request to another person, it may be a departure from a situation, it may subvert the old order where necessary, but it may accept forgiveness.

Through forgiveness, unhealthy anger becomes healthy, takes its place, and will only manifest itself where necessary. Forgiveness does not mean the abolition of anger. Without psychological work of anger, forgiveness cannot turn up.

For peace, for inner harmony, we must look affectionately at the "enemy" within and around us. Inner peace also requires a path of contemplation, through which we can enter the interior of peace and love. In the end, love pacifies disputing people, and love overcomes our inner divisions.

"Blessed are they who make peace, for they shall be called the sons of God" (Matt. 5: 9) - this will be the happiness of peace-makers.

The topics of the conference touch on exciting issues: Faith and Emotion, The Healing Effect of Missionary Work in a Mixed Denomination Community, The Healing Power of Faith in a Natural Science Approach, The Harmful Effects of Schooling, The Impact of Forgiveness on Mental and Physical Health, Language Teaching / Learning and the relationship of emotions, and The role of emotional intelligence in today's vocational education.
