In the spirit of lifelong learning, the provision of high quality training tailored to the needs of the labor market is also part of the strategic agreement signed on October 8, 2019 by the Rector of the University of Szeged and the Bishop of Szeged-Csanád Diocese and Chancellor of the GFC.
The two best-known higher education institutions of the Southern Great Plain region, the University of Szeged and Gál Ferenc College, have strengthened and extended their cooperation.
- In the spirit of networking, the University of Szeged has been expanding its cooperation in the last one and a half years, and its leaders have been expanding the relations of the Universitas by traveling a lot, - Prof. Dr. László Rovó emphasized in his introduction. The Rector of the University of Szeged added that cooperation should be set to the highest possible level in the nearby city where the institution is located. - The City of Szeged is also strengthening its position in the region and in Europe, as the University of Szeged has developed its well-functioning previous cooperation into a strategic agreement with Gál Ferenc College. For example, this relationship is geographically closer to, and perhaps stronger than, Beijing University, he said.
The provision of education, diploma, qualification, transfer of practical knowledge that can be utilized in the labor market is the aim of strategic cooperation of University of Szeged and GFC as well as the provision of high quality training tailored to the needs of the labor market. The two higher education institutions have teamed up to meet the professional development needs of graduates who are already working and have jobs. At the same time, their purpose is to meet the professional training needs of the employment organizations. The joint plans of University of Szeged and GFC include flexibility, while preserving their own values and traditions, as the promotion of training, further training and lifelong learning presents new challenges for higher education.
The Rector of the University of Szeged said that the university would be able to use Szeged's newest sports ground, the Szent Gellért Forum. The importance of the merger of the University of Szeged and GFC trainings was underlined by the University of Szeged Chancellor.
Focusing on the technical, health sciences and social education fields, all the courses of GFC cover all fields of education, so besides Csongrád County their institutions of Békés County are also affected by the strategic level agreement with the University of Szeged.
"The most important fabric is always the family and relatives," said dr. Gábor Kozma. In his greeting, the Rector of the Szeged-Csanád Diocesan College compared the cooperation between the institution he Lis leading and the University of Szeged with a well-established professional field, to the spiritual and family relations. - The scope of higher education institutions co-located in Szeged goes beyond borders. For example, in Békés County we also started training in Szarvas, Gyula and beyond Békés County in Mezőtúr.
They share a common destiny, because the peace dictatorship ending World War I drove the university and the center of the diocese from its original seat to Szeged.
“The Szeged-Csanád Diocese has a network of institutions with nearly one hundred places of work, covering two counties,” the bishop reminded. Dr. László Kiss-Rigó added: Outside of public education institutions and parishes, their child and youth specialist service has a national scope.
