The 2016 Vilmos Gelsey awards have been presented

The awards of the Vilmos Gelsey Pedagogical Instiute of the Szeged-Csanád Diocese were presented during the ceremony held on 5th December at Gellért Hotel in Budapest as acknowledgement of high-level pedagogical and economical achievement of Hungarian education. The Baron Vilmos Gelsey award was awarded to dr. György Naszvadi, economist as acknowledgement of his professional work serving the case of Christian education and that of the strengthening of national education. Laudation of dr. György Naszvadi was held by state-secretary Miklós Soltész. Dr. Károly Baranyi’s, president of the National Workshop of Educators, excelling pedagogical work and service done for the benefit of a great deal of generations was acknowledged with the Baron Vilmos Gelsey grand-award. The career of Dr. Károly Baranyi was praised by dr. Károly Frenyó. The awards were presented by Bishop László Kiss-Rigó and chief director and rector, Gábor Kozma in the presence of several state secretaries, deputy state secretaries and personalities of Hungarian scientific, commercial and cultural life. The two awarded were greeted by Vilmos Gelsey, the founder of the Szeged Pedagogical Institute and the award. Persons previously presented with the award, which was founded in 2014, took part in the ceremony: István Jelenits, piarist professor, József Tóth, auditor, István Farkas, piarist brother and sister.
